PROJECT 2017

PROJECT 2017

A group of 4 Liverpool artists and musicians went to the Czech Republic in June 2017 as the start of Project Nepomuk, a cross-border cultural exchange.

These 4 artists and musicians met their Czech counterparts at The Monastery in Klaster Nepomuk and in Prague and Frantiskovy Lazne to start a collaboration.

In November 2017 there was an evening in Frantiskovy Lazne, where Barry Webb the Founder of Project Nepomuk sang from his opera John of Nepomuk, and outlined its performance in 2018. As a result of this Barry will return to appear on Czech radio in January 2018, to sing and explain the project.

Then there will be an evening in central Liverpool with Czech food and drink and music to entertain you, with British and Czech music, on 24th March 2018 at 1930pm.

FUNDING UPDATE.

We have started a website to raise funds by our own efforts!!

The Arts Council of England will fund OPERA NEPOMUK as the first year of Project Nepomuk, and events are taking place from June 2017 to 2018. See for updates

www.projectnepomuk.com

Projects like this cost money. Opera is expensive, as even a concert production involves singers, orchestra, theatre administration, etc.

The performance of the opera Nepomuk will be made in concert form in Liverpool in 2018 as part of Project Nepomuk involving other events, financed by the Arts Council of England. Even so a concert performance is costly, so support is always welcome.

Project Nepomuk aims to bring art and music to local communities. Its present budget does not bring it in direct competition with the resources of larger established organisations.

THE ARTS COUNCIL OR ENGLAND GRANT WILL PAY TOWARDS THE FEES OF ARTISTS, ORCHESTRA, SOLO SINGERS, CHORUS, VOLUNTEER EXPENSES, HIRE OF REHEARSAL AND PERFORMANCE HALLS, AUDITIONS, PUBLICITY, POSTERS AND FLYERS, SCHOOL WORKSHOPS IN LIVERPOOL, CROSS BORDER CULTURAL COOPERATION INITIATIVES, CZECH ART WORKSHOPS, A CZECH TRAVEL BURSARY, AN ASSOCIATED ART EXHIBITION, A CHAMBER CONCERT IN THE CZECH REPUBLIC, A CHAMBER CONCERT IN LIVERPOOL. A CONCERT OF A NEW OPERA IN LIVERPOOL, ADMINISTRATION, WEBSITE UPDATES AND MEDIA, MUSIC EDITING AND PRODUCTION, BOX OFFICE, VENUE STEWARDS FOR THE BAR AND PROGRAMME SELLING, PROGRAMME PRODUCTION, VIDEO RECORDING, OTHER FUND RAISING INITIATIVES,  INVITES TO GUESTS, VIPS AND CRITICS. WE THEREFORE NEED TO SELL TICKETS AND RAISE OTHER FUNDS TO BREAK EVEN.
